Spells in Dark and Light is covered on this page. Players can learn spells by gaining ranks in the corresponding Magic Skill line. Not every Magic Skill line grants Spells, some grant Runes, which are powerful 1 time use Cosumables that act like Spells. To see a list of those please see the Runes page.

In order to be able to craft a Spell, players will need to reach a certain Player Level and Rank within that Magic Skill line. They will then need to find the correct materials and location in order to craft them. You will only need to craft a Spell one time in order to use it, but you must have a Staff equipped in order to cast that spell. Players can have 1 Spell equipped at one time.

Players playing Singleplayer can use the ID number listed in the table to add that Spell to their inventory via the admin function of the game (which is accessed by pressing "+" on the Numpad). Players will need to type: GiveItemNum [ID#] 1 1 0 to acquire it. For example if you wish to gain Draining Spell you would type: GivItemNum 203 1 1 0 . This will allow you to bypass the requirement in both that Skill Line and Player Level and you'll be able to use it immediately.
